Happy Thursday!

Let’s do some randoms…

Random #1

This morning I needed to water some pots on the front porch that didn’t benefit from yesterday’s rains. 

As I headed toward the door, Russ said it is supposed to be cooler today. 

I opened the door and thought I would wilt. 

Granted the number on the thermometer is lower today; however, the humidity is off the charts and the result is a steamy sauna of grossness. 

So if we, here in the Midwest, pine for pumpkins and mums and cooler days, please forgive us. 

Random #2

I told you our girl got to join the world of summer sports and played softball this year. 

After watching three boys play their hearts out for a number of seasons, I had to laugh watching the different dynamics of girls’ and summer ball. 

With the boys, it is all about the sliding mitt and seeds. 

For the girls, it was the hair. 

The fanciest braids and bubble configurations, ribbons to tie up the shoulders and lots of hugging and chants. 

With all four we were just thankful for great coaches, super parents and fun, supportive teammates. 

Random #3

We are watching with tears the devastation of areas around the North and South Rims of the canyon that is so Grand. 

There are so many things in the news that make us sad. 

Losses are heavy here and around the world. 

Love your people well.

Random #4

I am still not used to having a retired husband. 

Like today, I had several things I was rushing to get done and instead I asked him if he could do. 

And he did. 

So thankful. 

Random #5

I don’t really have a fifth one. 

I just hope you are having a good week, keeping cool and enjoying corn on the cob, watermelon, fresh tomatoes, ice cream and all that is yummy about summer.
