An interesting development in the ones coming behind us <3

We all know I don’t typically turn the news on, pick up a newspaper or in any way seek out how the media is covering anything. 

But we also may know that my husband does. 

So in the morning and at the end of the day, I do catch snippets of what is going on and one morning this week a story caught my attention. 

A girl who appeared to be in her early 20’s was sharing about her zero smart phone summer. 

For the summer she had put her iPhone away and was using a standard flip phone to communicate with people. 

No social media access. 

No camera to use.

No way to scroll or google. 

Just simple texting and calls. 

If you sent a photo or video, she can’t access it. 

The interviewer asked her how she was doing and she said great. Apparently this is something others her age are trying. 

She has started listening to sounds around her like birds and the wind rustling in the trees. 

She talks in person to people more.

She feels less anxious. 

She feels more connected to her world.

She thinks more and enjoys activities she didn’t have time for. 

She looked so happy and peaceful as she talked to the reporter.

Smart girl instead of a smart phone. 

I like it.
