Before they haul me off to the hooskow….<3

Good morning!

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and are entering into summer with a tummy full of grad cake, grilled food and a heart full of new treasures for your memory bank <3

Have you been getting a ton of emails regarding these intials….GDPR?

It has to do with the backlash of people getting fed up with their personal data flying around the world wide web, helter-skelter because of the “privacy agreements” that read like Ursula’s contract with Ariel right before she sold her soul and traded her fin for a pair of legs.

To break it down for you, the gist I am getting is that it has to do with anyone doing business with European Union and since this particular website could actually fall under that….God only  knows how…I am trying to be compliant and let you know what I know.

Which is precious little, trust me.

So I am working to develop some sort of privacy policy, but in case the EU feds drop in today and bust me, I want to have at least made an attempt to comply so…

Here is what I can control of your personal data on my website.

When you submit a comment or subscribe by email, your name and email address are safe with me. I always erase your last name off of the comment if I post it and if you ask me not to share it, I don’t.

That being said, if you own a business or host your own website I do leave your full name so that people can find you!

I am not using anyone’s name or email for anything in the marketplace.

I make  no money on this site. I do not use affiliates to pay for anything.

Russ Reimer pays my annual renewal fee to own this tiny place in cyberspace.

However; because I use something called plugins to share this directly to Facebook and some other plugins that help keep spam off my site, there is the potential that your email is collected by one of those plugins.

I know the ones I have received notice on are not plugins I use.

The email subscription service I am using now is through WordPress as is my Facebook service.

I don’t use any data collection sites to see how many people are reading this so that eliminates some of this problem.

Just like anything else on Facebook, if you like or comment … your email is probably being tracked by some gizmo somewhere.

Welcome to my world.

Like everything else in 2018 life as I know it…this is just one more reason I bow my head and ask God….Really???

Wouldn’t it be easier to just shut this thing down and call it a good run?

Because the technology side of this pulls me into a fetal position more often than you would care to know.

But then I get a message from one of you…someone I didn’t even know read this stuff…and I think of how God left the 99 for that one…and it’s totally worth it.

So we will keep “plug-in’ away”…

My prayer is to continue to bring you hope and encouragement, a laugh every now and then…and a reminder that you are not alone on this journey.

We are blessed to be in fellowship, however you decide to find your way here…I hope you will always find it a safe place <3

Five randoms and then it’s off to the races because it’s fRiDaY…YAY!!!!

1….if you all prayed for God to send me help with the website…well Praise Him! He did! So thank you, thank you and don’t stop.

A ray of sunshine and hope dropped by yesterday in the shape of a talented young woman named Robin.

Thankfully my chameleons and fake nest didn’t frighten her away from the front door…because she sat with me on this side of the screen and in a short while made a big difference in my life.

As we all may have suspected…most of my problems with maintenance of this site were operator based…

including the fact that I seem to have broken a new record for data storage on account of pixel ignorance. Yes, yes..once again my love of all things photographic and ignorance of all things digital have taken up a vast portion of space.

Who knew?

But all of that is going to change and my anxiety level over the tech part of this site decreased considerably.

Which leads us to ….

2. My battle after she left with alternating between moments of uncontrollable, adrenaline fueled mania and a stream of negative self-talk as to how could someone be so ignorant and yet plunge herself into actually attempting to run a website….

So I did what I always do when the two sides of my brain and heart are at war…

I deputized the sane portion of my brain and commanded it to repeatedly remind the rest of me to breathe deeply and stop freaking out…to turn all of this exhilaration and new-found energy over to the Lord and stick to the To Do list that I had formulated earlier in the day when I was still living in pixel-overload-ignorance.

Which reminds me of ….

3. In an effort to overcome a tendency to procrastination and addiction to list-making, I have come up with yet another new way of inspiring myself to stay on task.

This week I have written the following motivational message at the top of my To Do’s….

At the end of today, here is what I would like to have accomplished…..

So far it is working for me, although by next week I am sure I will have figured out how to dodge being inspired by that challenge and will have to come up with something new…any ideas??

Please do share <3

4. After all my complaints about snow and overcast days…this burst of sunshine is showing forth the extreme need for windows to be cleaned and places the dust cloth has missed and well…

someone has her work cut out for her…

5. We have booked the weekend full ….

and somebody, named me, has to downsize about a thousand photos here on this little slice of the internet…

Spring Cleaning…you just got bumped to next week’s list.

Hope your weekend is full of fun things and times for resting and refreshing and may all your pixels fit where you need them to…and if anyone can actually tell me what the heck a pixel is…that would be awesome <3

Race to end slavery 2018 <3

It’s that time of year again…but Team Reimer is short a runner.

Seems the older of the two…and that’d be me…is out with plantar fasciitis and some kind of back mess o’pain that is forcing me to be a spectator this year while my sweet husband…

will carry the burden on April 27th at the U of I for the Illinois marathon.

He won’t be toting wiggly boys and he will be doing the 5K and he is my hero.

Would certainly love if you would click on this link here and donate to his page….or donate to WBGL directly and support the fight against human trafficking.

I just did a search of the IJM website and there is an estimated 40 million PLUS people around the world who are enslaved today.

Young children…men…women…crying out or just hopelessly silent.

In remote areas of countries around the world and people, wake up…right in our own big progressive cities and our little all-American towns.

Some organization and people I know who are making a difference, whether through legal help and rescue or through love, support and ministry to the vulnerable in populations include:

IJM      click here   http://facts about human trafficking ijm

She is Safe      click here

Global Servants House of Grace    click here

New Life Pregnancy Center   click here

There are so many others and of course….my current place of choice for donation today is….

that donation page for my sweetie again is….

I heard a comedian recently say that he doesn’t understand people sending their thoughts and prayers to those in need.

The prayers he can understand because they do something but our thoughts…hmmmm….our thoughts only benefit someone if they prompt us to act.

It is our prayers and our response in action that brings change to this world.

So pray for those who are victims of the greed and lust of others and then ask God what He would have you do…whether it is to give to one of these organizations or to find a place to volunteer your time…pray that our eyes would not turn away from those who need people of influence to speak out for them.

Blessings on you <3
