Happy Monday <3
July 14, 2025
I am getting ready to clean our house, which is desperately needed. We have spot cleaned and kept the floors vacuumed and bathrooms/kitchen up to health code but it is time for a for-real cleaning.
But I miss making this a regular stop in my day, so I decided to just post some catching up on life things before I commence to dusting.
When I started this Journey, it revolved around photos and my daily thoughts. Let’s give it a whirl….

Happy Bastille Day!
I remember studying this in French class and this year it has a new level of meaning. Thanks to reading a lengthy piece with the 8th graders the first quarter of my sub gig last year, I feel a new connection to this day.
We read a scaled down version of “In Search of Honor” by Donnalynn Hess. Every day for a loooonnnnnggggg time and it was a good read. I may have to get the book and revisit it.

This girl played her first softball tournament this weekend.
It was so fun watching these girls battle their way through to the championship and then win it.
Her smile says it all.
And I guess I cropped that photo and hence the lovely note at the top, so here is another one just for fun.

Remember the lime tree I was gifted last year and we thought died a brutal Midwest deep freeze death?
Well here he is. And those moss roses are all volunteers from a pervious year that returned as well.
Man. Talk about second and third chances.
No limes, but it sure makes our driveway pretty.

Do you love summer food?
Me too.
The rain yesterday pre-empted Russ grilling these.
However; the oven version did not disappoint.
Now we need those tomatoes to ripen so we can start the BLT’s!

She would not be happy with me, but I can’t resist.
Another birthday celebration with my twin and this one was sweet.
Russ and I are realizing more and more how precious time is with those we love.
Every day is a gift.
Enjoy it to the full <3
