Randoms and a birthday <3
We interrupt our Wednesday Random’s to wish a very happy birthday to our firstborn!!!!
Thankful for her life and for the many ways she blesses us and others <3
And now back to our regularly scheduled Randoms….

Maybe you have seen all the hubbub about Pamela Sue Anderson and her no-makeup, no fixed hair season.
It’s all over the internet and quite the big deal.
Some hate it. Some love it.
Truth is, she has great features and hair so really she didn’t need a lot of help anyway to look good.
I have been laughing lately as I have run two errands recently in conjunction with a morning walk and a bike ride.
We have a Menards close by and so with bedhead, helmet hair, yesterday’s mascara and sleep crust under my eyes, I have entered and made my purchases before looping back home to clean up.
Telling myself if Pamela does it so can I, has added to the chuckles.
Pretty sure the effect of me with zero makeup and hair “as is” does not come across the same as this celebrity.
Only thing we have in common is, we don’t really care what others think. And it is very freeing.

I love working retail. We all know that.
The customers who come in bring so many stories. Some I can share and some I can’t.
This one is safe and was a total delight.
Recently an older-than-me lady brought her purchases up to the counter. I say that with confidence. Sometimes I think someone is older only to find out they are actually not. This one had to be in her 80’s.
As I finished ringing up her items she pulls out her phone and asks if we take Apple Pay.
WHAT?????
I laughed and said we sure do and she is my hero for knowing how to do that.
I told her I am a dinosaur when it comes to using anything besides a credit card, check or cash. Our kids just drug me into the new century, kicking and screaming, to do Venmo.
She laughed with me and said I sound like her husband. She is trying to get him to use Apple Pay with no success.
She tapped her phone, tucked it back in her bag and headed out the door.
I am inspired.

This is just and observation about the possibility that AI is not all it is cracked up to be.
The amount of posts generated lately on social media that are inaccurate is escalating.
Check out some of the “recipes” and lists being passed along.
The other day I saw a photo of a finished product that clearly had slices of tomato neatly placed across the top. The recipe called for a cup of diced tomatoes…no slices.
Then there are lists that have photos of items or cute drawings but if you read the material under each one, the words either have nothing to do with the actual subject of the post or they are under the wrong photo.
A waste of time.
I prefer people using their brains to create content.
And yes, I do make typos but they are not autogenerated and I do try to go back and fix them eventually!

I purchased a battery for a small candle today.
Yes, without makeup and my bedhead hair pulled into a pony tail, I did.
When I got home, it took much effort and even a pair of scissors to extract the darn thing. I managed to avoid injury to myself as I finally set it free of the intricate casing.
Just a thought but maybe we could put the minds behind this packaging and have them work on software protection for our information or national security even.
They seem very good at keeping things tight and unattainable.

You all…the How Great Thou Art Post…your comments were precious to me.
Someone said they play the Carrie Underwood version for the grandchildren.
This week, Caroline was riding with me to pick up a brother from soccer practice and I told her I had a song I wanted her to hear.
I pulled it up on YouTube and as soon as it started she said, “I know this song.”
And then, we rode for the entirety, while Carrie and Caroline sang a duet and Lola just wiped the tears.
I was able to use one hand to reach back and touch our girl’s leg while she softly accompanied the music and as I heard my mom in my heart and our granddaughter from over the seat…it was a most beautiful moment that moth and rust will not destroy.
She knows it. Even the whole King James Version language of “thou” and “art”.
My work here is done.
Praise God
