Randoms…because it is Wednesday <3
Happy Wednesday!
Sending some Randoms your way…

We tried these new fangled Doritos from Sam’s Club.
They are NKD which is a cute acronym for naked. The reason for this is they do not have any of the artificial dyes and such that leave your fingers orange for days.
They are delicious.
If you closed your eyes you would avow you are eating a regular Dorito.
Without all the extra orange and red crud.
Which begs the question, if all of that didn’t affect the quality or taste of the product, why oh why did it have to be included to begin with?

Joel saw some kind of dipped strawberry treats in his Highlights magazine and asked if we could make them.
Of course we could.
Chocolate covered strawberries are about the easiest thing you can do with kids.
They love making them and eating them.
You only have to do a small quart and they are totally happy.
We got fancy and added drizzles and sprinkles.

Rachel sent this photo of Graham “holding” their pup.
Actually she is not a pup and in dog years may be older than me, but the photo made me laugh so I hope it does you as well.
She was whining and he kept telling her to be quiet and finally just pulled her up on his lap and she was happy as a clam.

This one is sad
One of my cousin’s passed away this week.
Like all of my father’s side she was a resident of Washington state and we got to see her a couple times when we would go out there.
I remember her when we were kids, so pretty and fun. One summer visit she arranged the backyard to put on a circus show. We all had parts and it is a favorite memory of her.
Diagnosed with epilepsy as a kid, she struggled with debilitating seizures that damaged her brain and eventually had to be medicated heavily to prevent them.
Although she lived most of her adult life in care facilities, she remained funny and bright even if it took a while to get the words out.
My sweet cousin Kenny would visit her with books and music. He would sometimes call while he was there to help her talk to us.
It’s hard to understand why she had to live her life that way when the rest of us had families and jobs and mobility.
I just know God is good and He loves her and I am thankful for the assurance she is healed and whole with Him now.

Last Sunday after church, we went to a breakfast hosted by the local Knights of Columbus. The proceeds go to The Good Samaritan Inn that feeds the hungry in our community.
They hold this breakfast the Second Sunday of each month January – May.
If you are local, it was just a really yummy breakfast. We saw several people we know and got to visit a bit. Such a nice way to help The Good Samaritan Inn.
Mark your calendars!
It is held at The Hall at 520 (old KC building next to Civic Center)
Saying a prayer for the health of all of you.
There are so many viruses/Covid reports among all ages.
I hope you are staying well and rested.
I hope there is sunshine for you today and a warm place of peace.
You are loved.
