Randoms with Sweet Caroline this week <3

With two brothers at camp this week, Russ and I split up for Tuesday. I got Sweet Caroline.

This is her waiting as patiently as she can for them to be released. Here are some of our adventures.

Random #1

We started working on a little quilted pillow.

This was her Christmas gift from us but in retrospect I wish I had purchased a more realistic version. This child starter from Amazon can be finicky.

I have to say, she is a trooper and actually sewed several straight seams on her own.

I felt linked to my mom as she was the one who taught me to sew.

Also, the glasses…love so much <3

Random #2

Since it was Papi’s birthday, we baked him his favorite cake. That marked up recipe was scribed from his dad dictating the recipe over the phone to me when Russ and I were dating.

Back in those days, you called a house and got who you got. Mom was at the hairdresser so I had to stammer through telling him why I had called.

In true Dad Reimer fashion, he dug out the recipe box and read it over the phone to me.

And now his great granddaughter is helping make that cake <3

Random #3

We took a friend to the Children’s Museum.

Caroline scrambles up and down this thing like a spider monkey.

Her friend is afraid of heights.

But her friend is a brave little toaster and Caroline is a born encourager and between one bolstering her courage and one showing the way, they made it to both the bottom and the top together.

And if that isn’t a good friendship, I don’t know what is.

“Take a picture of this Lola.”

So I did.

Which explains why I currently have 27, 389 photos on my phone.

Seriously.

I did not make that number up.

Had just enough time after handing her friend back over to her mom to grab a quesadilla and sit outside at the Mexican restaurant.

Life is good.

Caroline is sweet.
