So about yesterday…. <3

I didn’t get a post up yesterday because we left at 6:45 A.M. to be with the Band of Brothers and Miss Thing for the day.

It was the first day of their Fall Break and I got the bright idea to try a Nature Preserve area I read about. It said there was fishing and limited parking. They told the truth about the parking. And yes, you could throw a pole in a pond but we don’t believe there were fish.

We did see a turtle, but he was smart enough to swim away.

We had lunch at Culvers and did a bunch of errands and it was just good to not be dropping someone off or picking someone up.

For those that have traveled the Journey here with me for any length of time, you know that family comes first and for fourteen years I have trekked up north at least once a week (except for a few) to take care of first one and now four on the days both mom and dad are working.

We have added Papi to the mix, which has been such a blessing as he has chosen to use his retirement to be my sidekick.

This post today is from October 1, 2014 when it was just Graham and Emmett. E was probably napping for this adventure. I think mom was actually home and served as photographer so she may have been holding him while she snapped photos.

So I hope you enjoy this little visit back to younger days for G and me. You can well imagine why I get tears in my eyes when I hear a man’s voice coming out of this boy who made me a grandma.

Headed to a day with the grandsons.  I had to try out the mini-pie pan tray I bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond for Thanksgiving pies that never happened, the fun kitchen gadgets I got from Graham for Christmas and the pie-making skills I honed at the Women Nurturing Women event this Fall at church. (Thank you Cinda ;0)

All because I wanted to make pies with

this guy.

So pie making happened….

along with some taste-testing

The filling started out pretty text book….

But quickly got out of hand….

The end results, 4 mini cherry pies, two shells to fill with pudding and one of the best days ever!
