What’s your story?***
For Mother’s Day, I got a sweet necklace with a teeny tiny little park bench charm and a disc that reads….”Your Story Matters”…love it…
And I took it as kind of an affirmation that this writing thing has a purpose and that my family is supportive.
Until I wore it to work this week….and wondered if maybe I got it because I am notorious in our family for being a magnet for other people’s stories….not people I know, mind you…total strangers.
Don’t even know their names…but I know their stories…
I know more about people I have only seen face to face one time in my whole life, then I know about my own father…
more about the check out girl at the grocery at the end of a long day…
more about the guy that installed the blinds…
more about just a whole lot of people that wander past and stop me to tell me their story.
Maybe it’s because I love stories. I love telling them, I love listening to them, I love watching them play out.
Sometimes.
Sometimes they are so hard and painful…
but often they are so funny or sweet or passionate or inspiring…
So I plan to keep listening to others, and telling mine and every now and again I may just borrow one or two, but I will give you credit….
God bless you this weekend as you go out there and live your story. Can’t wait to hear about it!
Cause your story and my story…they all matter <3
***I wrote this yesterday while the little guys were napping…then I went with a group from church to hear Micca Campbell and Laura Story…who..ironically…talked about “our stories”…only God…people…HE IS WRITING a story with YOUR LIFE!!!! He calls us “epistles of Christ” 2 Corinthians 3:3…letters written by the Spirit; a story written on the heart! He calls us His “workmanship” Ephesians 2:10…. his poiema….where we get the word poem…He is writing YOUR story and mine <3 God bless you…He must really want us to know this today!!!!!
