Weekend catch up
Even as I type the date for this, I catch my breath.
This year has sped the fastest of any in my life, I am sure of it.
In a mere 30 days it will be Christmas Eve and I am wondering if all the dragging out of boxes is worth it given the fact that I will blink and it will be time to store them away again.
Oh we will do it. Never fear. But the reality of the brevity of time is weighing heavy this year.
So let’s turn to something more cheerful.
This weekend we got to have Sarah, Jack and Rocco for a little while.
It was kind of our Thanksgiving with them and we enjoyed some walks, dinner at a local restaurant and they helped us with playing two new card games I bought for times with the kiddos.
We were delighted that the local Irish band led by one of our pastors was playing as we ate dinner and we saw several people Sarah knows from her time on the worship team back in the day.
The weather was delightful as was the company.
I gave Rocco his Christmas gift early as we are all sadly aware that his body is slowly giving out.
And so while I said I would share some cheer, all of life, as we know is a mixed bag.
It was a bittersweet goodbye and a resounding we hope to see all three again for the holidays.
I would most gladly purchase a new stocking stuffer for him should he decide to linger with us through Christmas.
He obviously would have liked to stay as evidenced by the photo at the very top of this. That was his response to Sarah and Jack calling him to come get in the car….sigh…we love him (and his people) and feel loved back.
Have a blessed Monday.
You also are precious and dearly loved <3
