Friday vibes as we bid May farewell <3

I didn’t get a post up yesterday and it wasn’t because I was too busy and rushing out the door. It was because I had the luxury of a slow morning to putter around our house, catch up laundry and put the finishing touches on the first of the summer birthdays/holidays.

In our life we have the fall birthdays (God bless Joel and Jack, they are our only fall babies). Then we roll into Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year madness.

Valentine’s and St. Patty’s give us joy without much financial obligation.

Next comes the spring birthdays and Easter.

We finish it all up with the summer-palooza of birthdays, anniversaries and of course Father’s Day.

And so yesterday we celebrated Emmett turning twelve to kick it all off.

There were all kinds of sweets and gifts and activities. Tia came up to hang out with everyone for the day. Russ and I went up close to ball game starting times and enjoyed watching him open his gifts.

Is it just me or does gift giving take a turn once the toys are exchanged for preteen interests???

He enjoyed sharing birthday cupcakes with his team and heading home with his family and Zach’s family for one more round of celebration.

He is in that tween stage and we have yet to see what God has planned for him. I know it will be a good ride full of daring adventures and no shortage of energy.

And we are blessed to have a front row seat <3
