Happy Monday <3
So here’s a little recap of our weekend.
The family we have close by were all busy or traveling so we our Empty Nest vibe and did a few things.
On Saturday Russ worked on yard things and I worked on things I am behind on.
We headed out late afternoon for Peoria with plans to attend a Chiefs game. Ideas like Milwaukee, Chicago and St. Louis were discussed but not having as far to drive or as much of a big stadium was more appealing to us.
We stayed a short drive across the river from the game and bought tickets on arrival. It was a fairly small crowd and we ended up sitting right over the home dugout. It was fun to see those young players watching the game when they weren’t on the field.
I mentioned to our son how they hardly earn anything hoping for a chance to move up and he said…maybe they just love the game.
I love that.
We attended our kids’ church on our way back to town.
The teaching pastor is the leader of young adult ministry there. We got there a little early and took some seats in the middle of a side section. Slowly it became evident that this was where the young adults sit.
We were eventually surrounded by a huge crowd of college age kids of all shapes, sizes and degrees of enthusiasm and it was wonderful.
Yesterday we did more work around the house and I ran to the grocery and Farmer’s Market for flowers.
The last of these were planted as the sun set over the prairie. It feels good to have this finished.
It was a good weekend.
I hope yours was too <3
