Making room for others to improve <3

A few summers ago, our neighborhood was blessed with new paving on every single street. This involved us navigating how we could enter and leave, lots of noise and trucks and temporary mailboxes set up on an unaffected street that leads to our area that we had to retrieve our bills from.

Last summer, we had a massive roofing situation going on thanks to an apocalyptic spring hail storm that was like nothing I have ever experienced weather wise.

All of our roofs (many only a few years old) had to be replaced due to at least 15 minutes of up to baseball size hail pounding down on us.

Throughout the hot days you could hear multiple roofs being stripped and pounded right into the fall.

This year was the summer of yard improvements but only in a small area.

The two houses across from us both decided to have pools installed and for the past three months we have had a variety of trucks, concrete mixers, flat beds, dump trucks and such every day as they worked on one and then the other.

Now don’t get me wrong. I love where we live and I love these neighbors.

I am so glad for them and especially for the family with little ones and all the friends who are now happily swimming after waiting so long for the pool to be finished.

This post isn’t about complaining at all.

This post is just a realization I had recently as I came out to water flowers while the concrete mixer vied for position with our garbage collector in front of our driveway.

And here is the thought that came to me….

Sometimes…often…as we are seeking to grow and improve and be our best…it affects the people around us.

Sometimes…often…as we work through the reconstruction and healing process…it causes some inconvenience to those closest to us.

Sometimes…often…to make changes for the better…others will have to put up with some stuff.

So…

Let’s be gracious towards those who have a project going on at their place….

And…

Let’s be gracious and grateful to those who are steering around the equipment necessary to get the job done at our place.

Peace <3
