To rest as a stone

I have returned to reading the prayers of the Puritans recorded in The Valley of Vision* edited by Arthur Bennett; published by The Banner of Truth Trust 1975

The following is from page 30 in a prayer called Christ the Word

“In a world of created changeable things, Christ and his Word alone remain unshaken.

O to forsake all creatures,

to rest…

as a stone on him the foundation….”

 

 

 

Or as we say in the the valley of vision 2015….Christ alone. Cornerstone.
