These goofballs had the week off from school, so Papi and I got the full meal deal yesterday.
We told them it was our Thanksgiving with them and we did a bunch of fun things. Our plans this year take us in different directions so we made the most of it.
All in all, a best day ever.

I gave up on Gingerbread houses with the Band of Brothers before Miss Caroline even came on the scene.
All the icing and candy and trying to glue construction of a home made of uneven baked cookie slabs was not my jam and brought me no joy.
Last year, I discovered bags of gingerbread mix at Target. They had the decorator icing in small tubes and I felt a tug.
It is amazing.
This Betty Crocker mixture is easy to put together and rolls out like a dream.
It makes a small amount so no one loses interest in the process.
Two cookie sheets later, some M &M’s for facial features and buttons and bam! We are done.
The cookies are good, and again not a ton to go stale before eaten.
Winner, winner.

We went to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and loved it.
I used to read the book to the kids and have read it numerous times myself.
A Christmas favorite.
I had to laugh when I read the reviews and one person wrote, it was good but overtly Christian.
Imagine that.
A movie about a Christmas pageant that is focus on Christ.

Our house is about halfway done for Christmas.
The lights are making me happy.
We have this weekend to wrap it all up and put the boxes away.
How are you all doing?

I’m taking the cranberry relish to our Thanksgiving meal with Russ’s siblings.
It was super easy.
One bag of cranberries, one orange quartered, 3 Tablespoons of orange juice and 3/4 cups of sugar.
Chopped it all in the food processor and we are icing her down for the road trip.
So yummy.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
