Wednesday Randoms in a big hurry…beware of typos…
Wednesday Randoms on the fly because I gotta get to Bible Study!!!
Here we go…

So this has happened…he’s, gulp, driving.
And he is doing well.
We are logging hours and so I found myself in the passenger seat, coaching when needed but mostly encouraging all the good choices.
The clincher for starting the flood gates last night though was when I told him he could slow down and wave to Papi and his little brother and sister who were fishing off the bridge.
It was literally a blink ago we were standing there while he baited hooks for himself and that same little brother while we watched his sister toddle around.

I have had a string of breaks lately.
First I dropped my cell phone, face down, in the rocks around our landscaping.
It looks like Bonnie and Clyde had a go at my screen saver.
Next I was rushing to open the car door as one of our frequent rainstorms blew in and caught the edge of my glasses on the frame. They flipped under the car next to me and now I have a half moon crack along the edge.
Then I was pulling the baking soda out to bake Russ’s birthday cake and managed to catch the handle of sifter. It plummeted down and knocked the ears off of that cute little rabbit.
They say things come in threes so hopefully we are done…sigh…all can be fixed, thankfully but soooo unnerving.

I have been the first one to several of the ball games so far this season.
I know.
Unheard of that I am early, right? But it is due to me being the designated driver for that particular athlete for that particular game, so here we are.
And the stress is daunting to say the least.
Being first means the field is wide open for where to place my lawn chair. This means I have to try and remember where some people habitually like to sit for each of the four friend groups we share spectator space with.
I also have to guesstimate how many of our other fans will be coming and what size chair they usually bring.
It’s a lot.
So I take a deep breath, pick a spot and nervously wait for everyone else to arrive.
I may volunteer to coach next year so I can just hang out in the dug out.
Although someone said they saw a snake slither into one a few weeks ago so that’s probably not an option either.
Maybe therapy is in order…

There have been a plethora of articles coming up on my feed suggesting shorter summer haircuts for people with thin, fine hair.
The irony is the models all have enough hair to star in a Breck Shampoo commercial…if you don’t remember Breck….google it.

Speaking of social media, I am loving watching all the World Cup clips, interviews, highlights and videos of athletes at fast food places in America.
Have I actually watched a game?
No.
But it is winning my heart even more than the Olympics.
I may get a jersey just because.
