Summer time is rolling along <3

I am standing here shaking my head and wondering where in the world the month of June went. 

A lot of it was spent sitting in yard chairs watching our favorite teams play ball, taking walks in the evening when the temperature dropped to a mere 85 – 90 degrees and getting caught up on things in the yard and house. 

Yesterday afternoon we took the three young’uns to the movies. Papi had researched some options and checked with Mom and Dad and we bought tickets to see “How to Train Your Dragon”. 

The goof troop decided that the back row is the best, so we climbed to the nose bleed section of a practically empty theater and settled in. 

It was so good. 

Not kidding. 

I loved it. 

The kids loved it. 

Russ loved it. 

Winner, winner. 

There was nothing offensive or any of those smirky little snippets of bathroom humor slipped in. 

The action was super exciting without being so scary you had to regret attending. 

It made us laugh, cry and it was the perfect summer heat escape story. 

The only bittersweet event was that Miss Caroline forgot to stick her shoes in the car. Thankfully she had socks on and if you have seen how some people grocery shop, we were just fine. 

I did attempt to pick her up and carry her and we both realized that the ship has sailed. 

I no longer can pick up any of our grandchildren and I have to say, it hurt a bit. 

In an effort to help both her and me laugh a little I showed her how I used to walk on my dad’s feet. She hopped on and we took a few steps of awkwardness and had some good giggles and that helped.
