Monday check in <3
I have been fairly productive already this morning with exercise, yard work and starting the Monday chores. But I wanted to take a minute and check in with you. Our weather continues to be hot and humid; however, I have to say there is the most pleasant breeze going on and it is making all the difference for outdoor actives for now.
We had a quiet weekend. Our Graham returned in the wee hours of the morning from Ecuador on Sunday. There were many moments throughout the night I woke and checked the flight path. At 3:33 am (that is a special time for me as many of you know) he texted his mother that they were landing in Chicago and able to turn on Wifi again. I checked my phone at 3:34 and was tickled to read it.
He looks great in the pictures Rachel and Zach sent of him upon return. Apparently he was not bothered by the altitude nor the food. We can’t wait to hear his stories and see his photos.
There was a FaceTime from Sarah in Spain on Sunday and a call from John in the late afternoon. I would declare having the opportunity to connect with your children no matter where they are is a true blessing of the internet.
Speaking of things pertaining to the Internet and technology…if you have been holding your breath, I did get the computer back. It seems the processing-gizmo-hard drive-blah, blah, blah is wearing out.
After consulting with the Geek Squad, some techy friends and my family; I think I am going to just replace my worn out desktop and this precious laptop (that bears a date of origin in 2015…sigh…it has served me well) with another MacBook Air.
The Geek-er’s have promised to teach me how to save excess photos and files to an external hard drive and then how to access it for use. With that being said, please continue to hold your breath a while longer until we get all the data transferred from the old machines to the new apparatus.
Does anyone else wonder how on earth we went from landlines and hand written lists to this insane amount of I.T. knowledge we are supposed to have to order a pizza, buy a concert ticket, keep up with friends and let everyone know what we like today when we were at a ball game? I know I do.
Sigh.
I did have to do a bit of clean up of files that have accumulated in one area that need to move to another before we can make all this transfer business happen and I ran across so many posts from over the years that made me smile, or cry, or laugh.
However much I may grouse about jumping through hurdles to learn how to do this, I am so thankful for the Journey I have shared with you. I am thankful for being able to connect on the other side of this screen with you, whoever you are.
Please know that while most of you who read this are annonymous to me, I have the blessing of hearing just often enough from someone that he or she DOES read it and it makes everything worthwhile.
I hope you have a great start to your week. Remember to toss up a prayer for me as I make the move to a new device soon.
Hugs and enjoy the day <3
