Randoms from a different view <3

Happy February!

I figured I would just do some randoms from where we are this week. We check the weather for our people up north and know it is cold. I will be honest – if we were there I would be happy, too.

I love it here and what a gift to see sun and the ocean – but I also love the Midwest and home and yes, believe it or not, winter. So here are just some (hopefully) fun pics from down here <3

It is particularly special to see Russ relaxing and enjoying real vacations. All the years he worked (well since the introduction of the smart phone into our world) our vacations were shared with trouble shooting problems and answering emails.

We are here because of his hard work and it is pretty nice to see him enjoy some of the fruits of labor <3

So here are the randoms in no particular order:

Random #1

This beach has gazillion shells and they must leave these trails and places where they dug in once the tide washed them ashore.

The patterns are so pretty and it is also possible this is where the plethora of birds that hang out on the beach get breakfast.

I am going to have to google it. Stay tuned.

Random #2

Because this island is between the gulf and a bay…and the surrounding area is dotted with sooooo many islands, rivers and more bays, there are boats a plenty.

A lot of them are enormous and we learned that some people actually live on them. I don’t mean spend a few nights of vacation…I mean LIVE on them.

We heard from friends that someone they met down here sold their house, bought a boat and this is their home. She told them the biggest problem was getting groceries.

I can think of about ten things that would top that as a problem for me before I even got to that as an issue.

To each her own.

Random #3

Every morning when we walk, I find another small handful of these to take back.

Russ asked me what I would do with them and of course I told him I would add them to the ones I have collected over the years that sit in jars and bowls around the house.

Can one ever have too many shells?

I thought not.

Random #4

Even though it is 60 degrees warmer here, I did use the seat warmer last night.

I took some “heat” for it from my better half.

Random #5

I told you we visited friends made through ADM in Fort Myers area.

This lady is such an inspiration to me. She wrote the book I told you all about a while back for kiddos called Sofia’s Someone. Here is the link —> https://sofiassomeone.com

This is such a sweet book for children. Sofia is a horse who has been mistreated and is learning to reconnect with people at a stable where children with special needs can interact with horses.

This is a true story for Donna and Sophia, as Donna volunteers at such a stable, and her husband Gene did buy Sophia to be her own horse.

Visiting with Donna was so fun. The work that the stable and volunteers do with the children is so inspiring as well as the way the book came about.

Donna just knew she had a story to tell and she wrote the words, God led her to a publisher and illustrator and now there are two more in the series coming out in March and December this year.

The stories are so good and have such a good message.

If you are looking for a great book to gift a child or teacher/classroom this year, I highly recommend this one and to be on the lookout for the rest of the series.

Okay – that’s it for today.

Blessings friends, wherever you are.

You are loved <3
