Before I voted… or even got ready for the day ahead <3

By the time  you read this, we may or may not have elected a new President.

Some of our other choices won while others most likely lost.

If you are like me, for the first time in my voting life, I actually cried leaving the polling place.

But also for the first time in my voting life, I was concerned enough to really, really research the issues and really, really seek God’s face before I voted.

So this was my prayer I wrote in my journal…

first thing on Election Day morning…

from my heart.

Father, I pray to be a relevant Christ-follower in these times.

I pray to be authentic and genuine as I represent Your Kingdom in the times and seasons in which You have placed me.

I pray for myself, for my family, for my friends and for my brothers and sisters in Christ all around the world to stand firm on Your Word and in Your Truth.

Heal our backsliding. Convict us of our sins and waywardness and self-centered pride.

Teach us Your ways.

Empower us, each one of us, to walk out our daily life following hard after You.

As ambassadors to a foreign land, Lord, give us wisdom and discernment to navigate a culture that is not our home; so that our lives would daily declare the praises of our King and bring Glory and Honor to Your Name.

Give us, in greater measure, Your Grace-filled love.

Give us Your eyes to see and let our hearts beat for You alone.

As the final Day of Judgment approaches, strengthen us to work more fervently to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Soften and tender the hearts of those around us, that we might have open doors to give testimony of Your Redemption story played out in our own lives.

Fill us with the JOY of YOUR Salvation, no matter the circumstances we face.

When we suffer and are rejected, help us, dear LORD, to remember – it is You the world hates.

And at those times, remind us again of Your own dying prayer…

Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.

In prayer, petition, supplication and thanksgiving…

may our every breath be for You and for Your Kingdom Come…

here on earth..

as it is in Heaven.

Amen and amen <3
