San Diego….Day 1

If you are just joining the Journey for the first time or it’s been a while, we are currently having a little Travel Log of our trip to the West Coast with these goobers. This is what most group pictures start with. The ridiculous facials and protection of private areas are because there are a lot of shenanigans as we gather together for a commemorative photo.

Boy humor.

Since it was a short drive from Temecula (see yesterday’s post), we hit the ground running.

Literally.

First stop was La Jolla to see the seals.

We had a lot of fun watching these critters as they lolled in the sun, undulated to the water over rocks and then swam like ballet masters.

We made a stop at Torrey Pines to fulfill a bucket list item for Russ.

Rachel planned a lunch stop at a cliff top restaurant that is a center for hang gliders, but the wait for food was going to be too long so we just lingered and enjoyed the views.

After we had our fill of the dizzying escapades, we headed back in to La Jolla and Rachel found a place called the Burger Lounge.

I can’t remember where this burger landed on Emmett’s list, but it was high up there. A fun place to eat and super nice people.

Next we checked off one of Emmett’s bucket list items and visited the area where the USS Midway is docked. He loved it.

We all did.

Except for the photo ops, which seem to prove hysterical for the boys.

Every. Time.

We will wrap this little journey to Cali up next week.
